After five years in television news in Dothan, he joined WSFA in August 1976, where he quickly established himself as a steady and reliable voice for Central Alabama. Over the next 22 years, Bob anchored the evening newscasts, reporting on the most significant stories of the day with integrity and compassion. His role extended beyond anchoring; he served as the News Department’s Managing Editor, overseeing the delivery of news that residents could trust and rely on.
Bob’s journalism career was distinguished not only by his leadership but also by his adventurous reporting. He traveled extensively, covering stories from major cities across the country and abroad. His foreign assignments took him to England, France, Germany, and Kuwait, where he delivered in-depth coverage of international events.
